2048 is the addictive tile-merging puzzle that ate millions of hours in the mid-2010s, and the version on StudyQuest layers quiz questions over the same loop. You slide tiles with arrow keys (or swipes on mobile), matching numbers merge into doubles, the board fills, and your goal is to reach the 2048 tile. Quiz questions from your uploaded study material appear periodically — correct answers earn +50 bonus points, three wrong answers in a single game end the run.

The genius of the original 2048 was that its tight loop produced sustained flow states for casual players. The StudyQuest version preserves that loop while inserting question moments at intervals that don't feel disruptive. Most players report studying through 2048 sessions without noticing how much material they've covered, which is the entire point — engagement is the bottleneck in studying, not the studying itself.

The wrong-answer budget (three strikes) is deliberately generous. Unlike Mountain Climb's harsher three-lives system, 2048's three-wrong-per-game lets you play through tougher question pools without ending the run prematurely. The tradeoff is that the gameplay layer is harder than most StudyQuest games — reaching 2048 takes real puzzle skill — so the long-form challenge comes from the puzzle, not the questions.
